Time
for America Foundation Time for America Foundation, a 501 ( c) 3 non-profit
organization, was founded in 1996 with the mission, 'To Encourage the Spirit of America". The co-Founders were Kathleen McKinnon and Rita Thompson Whaley.
They were concerned that America's kids were not being educated enough about America and were not respectful of the men and
women who serve and have served America. So
they created a full curriculum teaching children about America through the eyes of those who serve and have served America
- our Service men and women, veterans, and ALL other civil/public servants. After several years of activity with many U.S. veteran's groups including The American Legion and Auxillary and The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in implementing the education progrmas in schools in several
states (Maryland, District of Columbia, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania) and reaching over ONE-HALF a MILLION (500,000) students,
their families, active-duty servicemen and women, their families and communities, the prorams were suspended, untimely passing
of Kathleen McKinnon. Rita went back into
a management role for a publicly-traded company to recapture the financial contributions she has made to Time for America Foundation. Time for America Foundation was named the Education Arm of World USO in the late 1990's. Co-Founder, Rita Whaley worked directly with Alice Wax, ex-officio Board member of World USO, and World USO to successfully have the month of May proclaimed National
Military Appreciation Month (NMAM - www.NMAM.com) as designated by the Congress of the United States in perpetuity. The Foundation was one of the very early Commitment Makers to General Colin Powell's America's Promise Alliance and worked with Mrs. Willam Cohen on the education program. Secretary of the Navy, John Dalton, was extremely helpful to the Foundation as we launched
the program in multiple states across America and with multiple ships and their awesome crews deployed around the world defending
America in counties and regions around the world including Italy, Spain, Central and South America and Asia. It is TIME FOR AMERICA
to take every opportunity to say Thank You and give more than just appreciation to the men & women in emergency assistance
roles, to America's servicemen and women and ALL who SERVE AMERICA and their families and to teach our children and their families to TRULY APPRECIATE AMERICA! Please email Rita Thompson Whaley at tfamerica@aol.com
